Boxing Greats You May Not Know

Whether you are into boxing or not, there are a few greats that you may not know. These boxing greats include George Foreman, Muhammad Ali, Joe Louis, Marvin Hagler, and Tyson Chavez. These boxing greats all had very different styles. However, they were all great boxers who are still around today.

George Foreman

Despite his flamboyant lifestyle, George Foreman is a religious man. He was ordained a minister in 1978, and he founded The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Houston, Texas.

George Foreman’s career started in the 1960s, and he continued to win until he retired in 1997. He was also the oldest man to win a title in his career.

He has been inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. He has also been named one of the 25 greatest fighters of the past 80 years by The Ring magazine. His career spanned three different eras, and his improbable comeback at age 45 has earned him respect from boxing fans and the sports press.

At the age of 25, Foreman won the heavyweight title. He won it again in 1994, and defended it against Ken Norton in 1997. He was also inducted into the International Boxing Research Organization’s Hall of Fame.

Joe Louis

Muhammad Ali

Known as “The Greatest” in boxing, Muhammad Ali is one of the most famous figures in sports history. He was a legendary boxer, political activist, cultural influencer, and anti-war crusader. He was born Cassius Clay in Louisville, Kentucky, and later converted to Islam.

He was a witty, charismatic, and outspoken boxer. He changed the culture of boxing by bringing grace to the sport. He was a cult figure in the boxing community, and his style was emulated by many others.

In 1964, Muhammad Ali was a top amateur boxer. He won the gold medal in the Summer Olympics in Rome, Italy. After winning the gold medal, he decided to make boxing his profession. The same year, he married Lonnie Williams. The couple had nine children.

Although Ali was a great boxer, his career was stymied by Parkinson’s disease. The disease slowly robbed him of his physical and verbal dexterity.

Tyson Fury

Among boxers, Tyson Fury stands out because of his combination of speed, accuracy, and good defense. He is also a good puncher, and he can use a variety of tactics in his fights.

Tyson Fury’s boxing credentials include a career win over Wladimir Klitschko, a second-round knockout of Dillian Whyte, and a rematch victory over Derek Chisora. He has won the WBO heavyweight title twice, and is currently the holder of the WBC title.

He’s currently ranked as the number one heavyweight in the world. However, Wilder wants to finish his career on a high note by winning a title. Duilio Loi

Known for his guile and craft, Duilio Loi was a great Italian boxer. He had a great left hand, a solid chin, and a great record against the elite of his division.

Loi’s 126-fight career was a success. He fought a slew of top-level boxers, and won a European title and the Italian lightweight title. He also made a brief appearance in the United States, where he fought twice. He died in January 2008 at the age of 78. He was buried in the Monumental Cemetery of Milan.

Hagler’s record was 62-3-2 with 52 knockouts. He also made twelve successful defenses of the middleweight title.

Hagler was also twice named Fighter of the Year by The Ring magazine. He was also a member of the “Four Kings” of boxing, along with Sugar Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns, and Roberto Duran.

He was also ranked as the sixth greatest middleweight of all time by the International Boxing Research Organization. Hagler died on April 22, 2001.

Tyson Chavez

Throughout his professional career, Boxing great Tyson Chavez has had a successful record. In fact, Chavez has won six world titles in three weight classes. He is ranked the greatest Mexican boxer of all time. He is also eligible for induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Tyson’s career has come to an end. He was disqualified for biting Evander Holyfield’s ears in 1997. He also faces assault charges in Maryland. He has also been jailed. He has been called a cannibalistic convicted rapist. Despite this, he remains a popular figure in his home country of Mexico.

Tyson was one of the top heavyweights of his generation. He won his first 19 professional bouts by knockout. His career began at Cus D’Amato’s gym in Catskill, N.Y., where he learned sweet science. He later became Tyson’s legal guardian.

Tyson Taylor

Defending World Boxing Association lightweight champion Josh Taylor has just won the most important boxing award of the year. He beat Jose Carlos Ramirez by a unanimous decision in Las Vegas.

The title was a reward for Taylor’s victory in his seventh fight. He had previously battled calf injuries in his last few fights. Taylor moved to a quiet gym in Connecticut to rebuild his career. He then beat Delfine Persoon in New York in his next fight.

Taylor also won the IBF lightweight title in his ninth fight. He defended the title five times.

Klitschko

Probably one of the most dominant heavyweights of all time, Vitali Klitschko is a Russian-born boxer who is famous for winning forty-six fights. He has also held the WBA, WBO, and European heavyweight titles. Despite losing his first title fight to Corrie Sanders, he came back and defeated Ross Purrity in eleven rounds in 2006.

Vitali Klitschko was the son of a former major general in the Soviet Union. He began his professional boxing career at age twenty-five. He was a huge man, six-foot-seven inches tall and athletic. He has 41 knockouts and a KO ratio of 87%. His style is not as fluid as other fighters, but it is still a very aesthetic style.

Vitali Klitschko had an impressive career, but he never really faced a fighter that had a chance of knocking him out. Evander Holyfield was considered a world-class fighter, but Vitali never faced him.
